What the GearUP B023 keyboard is and who it suits

According to the listing, the GearUP B023 keyboard is a rechargeable, ultra slim folding pocket Bluetooth keyboard from the brand GearUP. The maker presents the GearUP B023 keyboard as a portable option for typing away from a desk, whether you are at a café table, in a meeting room or on a long journey. The listing describes a Bluetooth-compatible wireless type with 66 keys and English as the language setting.

Many people in Dhaka and other cities now move between a phone, a tablet and a laptop in the same day. A student might take notes on a tablet at college and write an assignment on a laptop at home. An office worker might reply to messages on a phone during a commute and then type a report at a shared desk. For that kind of mixed use, a GearUP B023 keyboard can be a practical second typing option.

The GearUP B023 keyboard has a built-in lithium battery, and the listing gives an effective operating range of 10m. These are listed specifications, and the specifications section below sets out each one. Where the listing gives two different figures for the same feature, we show both and say so. For background on how computer keyboards are laid out, see an overview of computer keyboards.

Key features

The listing highlights five features for the GearUP B023 keyboard. Each point below summarises the maker’s wording, and where a claim is the maker’s own description rather than a measured figure, we say so.

Comfortable and silent typing

According to the listing, the concave keycap design of the GearUP B023 keyboard provides comfortable and quiet typing. The maker says this helps ensure a pleasant typing experience. That matters when you write notes late in the evening or reply to messages during a call in a shared room. Quiet keys also help in an open office, where constant clicking can distract colleagues. The listing does not explain how the concave shape feels for every hand size, and it gives no noise figure. Treat the quiet-typing claim as the maker’s description, and test the feel yourself before you rely on it for long writing sessions.

Scissor switch key structure

The listing says the scissor-switch mechanism of the GearUP B023 keyboard allows silent and effortless typing. The maker presents it as suited to quiet environments, such as a library, a bedroom at night or a shared flat where others are sleeping. The listing also gives a key lifespan of more than 3 million presses and presents that figure as the basis for its durability claim. That is the maker’s rating, quoted as listed. The best way to judge the feel is to type on the GearUP B023 keyboard for a few minutes before you rely on it for long sessions.

Dual foldable design

The GearUP B023 keyboard folds in half, which the maker says makes it easy to carry. The listing describes it as a pocket keyboard that can be folded into a pocket or backpack, so it can go into a bag with other devices. The listing also mentions automatic on/off and reconnection, which the maker says makes operation more convenient. For a student or commuter, that combination of folding and reconnection is the practical point to weigh. Fold the keyboard before you pack, so it takes up less room in a crowded bag.

Compatibility with multiple systems

The listing says the GearUP B023 keyboard is compatible with Android, Windows and HMS HarmonyOS. The specifications also give a support system line of iOS, Android and Windows. The two lines are not identical, so the listing does not settle the question for every device. If you use an iOS device, check the compatibility section of this guide before you buy the keyboard. The maker also says the keyboard is designed to work with various operating systems and devices, but the listing gives no further detail.

Convenient and portable

According to the maker, the GearUP B023 keyboard is an ideal companion for travelling or working on the go. The listing describes its compact and foldable design as incredibly convenient to carry around. It gives two weights: 5.97 ounces in the description and 246g as the packaging weight in the specifications. These are two different measures, and the listing does not explain the difference, so both are shown as listed. For daily carrying, the product size in the specifications is the figure to plan around for a bag or pocket.

Specifications

The table below sets out the specifications for the GearUP B023 keyboard, using the values given in the product listing.

These are listed specifications from the product listing for the GearUP B023 keyboard. The description gives 40 hours and 180 days where the table shows at least 30 hours and at least 150 days.

How to use / set up

Start by charging the GearUP B023 keyboard fully before first use. The listing gives a charging duration of under 2 hours, so you can plan a charge the night before a trip or a long day at college. If load-shedding is common where you live, charge in the evening so the keyboard is ready when the power goes off. Follow the maker’s instructions for the charging connection.

The listing says the CONNECT button helps you pair the keyboard with your devices quickly. It also describes automatic on/off and reconnection. Press the CONNECT button to pair the keyboard with your device, and follow the maker’s instructions for the exact steps on your model.

Setup steps stay generic here. Charge the GearUP B023 keyboard fully, then follow the maker’s instructions to pair it with your phone, tablet or laptop. Once it is connected, type a short line into a notes page to check the connection. If pairing does not work, try again and follow the maker’s instructions.

Once paired, the GearUP B023 keyboard can be used with a phone, tablet or laptop on a flat, steady surface. Try it on a table before a presentation, an exam or an online interview so that you know how the keys feel under your fingers. The listing describes the effective range as 10m, so keep the keyboard within that distance of the device you are typing into.

Before you rely on the keyboard for a trip, practise the pairing at home, where a charger is close by. That way any problem shows up before you are on a bus or in a meeting. Keep a note of the device you paired with last, so you can reconnect quickly.

For care, keep the GearUP B023 keyboard clean and dry, and store it folded in a bag when you are not using it. Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid spilling drinks near the keys. The listing gives a key lifespan of more than 3 million presses, but heavy daily use still benefits from gentle handling.

Humid weather is common in Dhaka during the monsoon, so avoid leaving the keyboard on a damp surface or in a closed bag after a rainy journey. Let it dry before you pack it away, and keep it away from direct heat. A drawer or shelf away from a window is a sensible place to store it between uses.

For a commute, keep the GearUP B023 keyboard folded in a bag with your device, so it is ready when you arrive. Fold it before you pack, and avoid carrying it loose with coins or keys in the same compartment. Good posture is a sensible habit whatever keyboard you use, and a table at about elbow height suits most people.

Compatibility and what is in the box

According to the listing, the GearUP B023 keyboard is compatible with Android, Windows and HMS HarmonyOS, and its support-system specification lists iOS, Android and Windows. The maker says it is designed to work with various operating systems and devices. Because those two lists are not identical, check your own device model and operating system before you buy.

The listing does not give a list of items included with the keyboard, so we cannot confirm the contents here. If you need to know exactly what arrives with the GearUP B023 keyboard, ask us before you order.

The maker lists the keyboard as Bluetooth-compatible wireless, which is the connection type your phone, tablet or laptop needs to pair with it. The listing also says it is made in China. Those are the confirmed connection and origin details in the listing.

The listing gives two weights: 5.97 ounces in its description and 246g packaging weight in its specifications. It does not say whether these describe the keyboard alone or the packed product, so both figures are shown as listed. The product size of 282.00 x 97.00 x 17.25 mm is the figure to check if you are planning a bag or pocket for the GearUP B023 keyboard.

Who should buy it in Bangladesh

Students are a natural fit. A student who writes assignments on a phone or tablet at a tuition centre, then moves to a laptop at home, can carry the GearUP B023 keyboard between both. The folding design suits a bag already full of notebooks.

Office and field workers who type on the move may also find it useful. Someone who replies to email on a phone during a commute, or writes short reports in a site office, can use the GearUP B023 keyboard with a device they already own.

Travellers and people who often work from different places in Dhaka may choose the GearUP B023 keyboard as a second typing option. The listing says it suits travel and business trips, and the maker says it lets you write down ideas anywhere quickly.

A folding keyboard is most useful when it fits your routine. Think about where you type most often, which devices you carry and how much space you have in your bag. If you mainly work at a fixed desk, the portable design may matter less to you than the feel of the keys, so weigh that before you decide.

Buyers who need a keyboard for a fixed desktop setup, or for gaming, may want a different choice. The listing does not describe gaming use, so the GearUP B023 keyboard is best judged on portability and typing feel. The alternatives section below covers other products in our range.

Households that face power cuts can benefit from a rechargeable device. The listing gives continuous operation of at least 30 hours in the specifications and 40 hours in the description, with standby of at least 150 days and 180 days. Charging the keyboard in the evening keeps it ready when the power goes off.

Exam candidates and people preparing for interviews may use the GearUP B023 keyboard for practice typing on the device they will use on the day. Choose a device that appears in the compatibility notes above, and practise with the setup you plan to use.

Freelance writers who draft on a tablet in a cafe can use the keyboard for longer typing sessions away from a desk. The listing describes the keys as silent and effortless, which may suit a shared space, though the listing gives no noise figure.

Parents and home workers who share a desk can keep the keyboard folded in a drawer and bring it out only when they need it. The listing describes the folding design as easy to carry, which suits that kind of short, occasional use.
